Spiced Chicken Burger

🛒 Ingredients

For the Patties:

  • Nonstick cooking spray 🥄

  • 1 lb ground chicken 🍗

  • ¼ cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs) 🍞

  • 1 tbsp garam masala 🌶️

  • 1 tsp ground cumin 🌿

  • 1 tsp grated garlic 🧄

  • 1 tsp grated ginger 🌿

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro 🌿

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice 🍋

  • 1 small red chili, finely chopped (optional) 🌶️

  • 4 burger buns 🍔

Cilantro Chutney:

  • 1 cup fresh cilantro leaves 🌿

  • 1 small green chili 🌶️

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice 🍋

  • 1 tsp grated ginger 🌿

  • 1 tbsp plain yogurt 🥛

  • Pinch of salt 🧂

Toppings:

  • 1 cup thinly sliced cucumber 🥒

  • ½ cup thinly sliced red onion 🧅

  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves 🥬


📋 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly mist a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray 🥄.

2️⃣ Prepare Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground chicken 🍗, panko 🍞, garam masala 🌶️, cumin 🌿, garlic 🧄, ginger 🌿, cilantro 🌿, lemon juice 🍋, and red chili 🌶️ (if using). Mix gently until just combined. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties 🍔. Place on the prepared baking sheet.

3️⃣ Bake Patties

Bake patties for 15 minutes, or until fully cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).

4️⃣ Make Cilantro Chutney

In a blender, combine cilantro leaves 🌿, green chili 🌶️, lemon juice 🍋, ginger 🌿, yogurt 🥛, and salt 🧂. Blend until smooth, adding 1–2 tsp water 💧 if needed to adjust consistency.

5️⃣ Warm Buns

Place burger buns in the oven for the last 2–3 minutes of the patties’ cooking time to warm them up.

6️⃣ Assemble & Serve

Spread cilantro chutney on the bottom bun. Add a patty, then layer with cucumber 🥒, red onion 🧅, and baby spinach 🥬. Top with the bun and serve immediately.
